116 — Black Sea Forest · Hand Pressed Print
Edition of 20 · No. [X]/20 · Hand Signed
THE PRINT
One hundred and sixteen years of growth, recorded in wood. This print was made from a tree felled in the forests of the Black Sea region of northern Turkey — a landscape shaped by heavy rainfall, dense canopy, and slow, patient growth. Each ring visible in this print represents a single year, counted by hand before the block was inked.
What you see on the paper is not a photograph or a scan. It is a direct impression of the wood itself — the rings, the grain, the compression and expansion of each growing season pressed into the surface of the page.
THE PROCESS
The cross-section of the tree is prepared as a printing block, inked with letterpress ink, and pressed by hand onto high-quality white paper. No digital reproduction. No machine printing. Each print in the edition is pulled individually, and minor variations between prints are a natural result of the hand process.
EDITION & AUTHENTICITY
This print is issued in a limited edition of 20. Each print is numbered by hand (No. X/20) and signed by the artist. Once the edition is sold out, no further prints will be made from this block.
